Daun Sawang atau Dawen Sawang

Dawen Sawang or sawang leaves, is a kind of sacred leaves used to spray water or the victim's blood at the time of sacred ceremony or as a means of denial disaster (see lapak laminak). Ruler leaves sawang are Jata Lalunjung Sawang who resides in nature above, in the country of Batu Nindan Tarung.

For the Dayak tribe, the purification factor which represented by hasaki / hapalas plays an important role in life. Basic words of hapalas is palas and hasaki is saki. Ha means mutually. Mutual manyaki and mamalas. Saki and palas ritual means blood basting. The blood of animals such as chickens, cows, buffalo, for the muslims and to the non-muslims, sometimes the blood of pig. The sacrificial animal blood basting on the forehead, hands, chest, and legs. With hasaki / hapalas as a symbol of purification, people free from evil influences, both physically and emotionally. Clean physically and spiritually, people become more sensitive and able to accept the gift and the grace of God Ranying Hatalla or the Power. The gift is in the form of instructions to be given by Ranying Hatalla.

Why should be blood?, because blood is a symbol of relationships between and among human beings and reliable functioning cooling or neutralize. If the basting of blood carried from the bottom up, called saki, meant to evoke hambaruan or spirit. If the basting of blood carried from the top down, called palas, meant to liberate.
